New to volunteering at Edison? Here’s everything you need to get started.
There’s no better way to feel at home at Edison than to jump in and volunteer — no special skills, experience, or big time commitment required.
- Volunteers support our teachers and bring hands-on enrichment into the classroom.

- Whether you can give an hour a year or an hour a week, there’s a place for you here.
Ready to get started? It only takes two steps.
All Alameda Unified school volunteers first complete a quick clearance through Arbiter. Head to the district’s Arbiter page and create your account:
When you register, choose your level:
- Level 2 (L2) — In-class: Choose this for most volunteering opportunities, including classroom help, events, and campus activities.
- Level 3 (L3) — Driving: Choose this in addition if you’d also like to drive students (for example, on field trips).
Not sure which to pick? Choose L2 to cover most opportunities — you can always add L3 later if you’d like to drive.
